DoorDash rolls out emergency relief program as surging pump prices hit gig workers

Food delivery company DoorDash is launching an emergency relief program to help U.S. gig workers offset rising fuel costs. The program will be offered to delivery drivers who log at least 125 miles a week on DoorDash orders. The move comes as national average retail gasoline prices have risen by over 30% to nearly $4 per gallon. The company estimates that eligible drivers can save up to $1.9 per week.
