Yatir Nitzany, a 42-year-old man from Everglades National Park, was fined $180 for handling wildlife without a permit after he held onto an eight-foot Burmese python for 30 minutes. This incident occurred during a bike ride in the park. From 2018 to 2025, over 400 alligators were removed from Walt Disney World property, an average of 36 each year, according to Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission records. In 2024, over 8,700 gators that posed a threat to people, property or pets were captured, with most being euthanized. However, Jefry Julian Chaucenes Vasquez, a 23-year old repeat offender from Miami Gardens, reportedly stole a Ford SUV from the Plantation Key Courthouse parking lot after being released from jail. He was eventually stopped by the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office and taken into custody. In June, Riley Ferrer lost control of his pickup truck and crashed it on I-75, causing serious injuries to two people inside the second vehicle.
