This comes a year after President Donald Trump's executive order created the reserve. However, the Treasury has ruled out new Bitcoin purchases. Witt's comments contrast with Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent's statements that the government would not be purchasing additional Bitcoin, limiting reserve growth to assets obtained through law enforcement seizures.
