Anthropic considers pulling Claude Code from its $20 Pro plan

The makers of Claude, the makers of the flat-rate AI plans, are considering removing Claude Code from its $20 Pro plan due to the rise in agentic AI applications like Claude Cowork and Claude Code. Anthropic Head of Growth Amol Avasare stated that these changes were part of a small test on 2% of new prosumer signups and that current Pro and Max plans have not changed. He also shared that when Claude Max launched a year ago, Claude Code was not included in the features available on the platform. This move could potentially create an opportunity for Anthropic's competitors, OpenAI with Codex, and may lead to significant changes to individual AI plans.
