Gas prices in Connecticut have continued to rise, with the attorney general's office warning drivers to watch for price gouging at the pumps. The average price for a gallon of gas has reached $4.29, nearly one dollar more than a year ago and less than one dollar from the state's highest recorded average during the Ukraine war in 2022. The attorney general’s office has not found any legitimate complaints of price gouing at any gas station in the state. As gas prices rise over $3 per gallon, this triggers what's known as an "abnormal market disruption" and powers by the state, the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection to take action.
