A sister, a brother and a kidney transplant

A brother and sister from Southwest Minnesota, Tracy Schultz and Stan Lupkes, will undergo separate operating rooms to give up one of their kidneys to save their lives. Since being diagnosed with kidney disease 3 years ago, Stan has felt progressively worse and became one of the 90,000 people in the U.S. waiting for a kidney transplant. While on dialysis, Stan's chances of living significantly decrease after five years. His sister, Tracy, began a series of tests to determine whether she was a match for him. The transplant means that siblings are often the best donors, as their risk of rejection is lower.
