Actress Jo Marie Payton, known for her roles in Family Matters and The Proud Family, has revealed that she is recovering from a medical emergency that left her unable to walk or talk for two months. The 75-year-old actress posted an update about her health on her Facebook page celebrating Easter. This is her first update since October 2025. The nature of the medical emergency is not yet disclosed. Last month, Payton made her first public appearance in 2026 at the Boynton Beach Women’s Empowerment Luncheon where she shared inspirational messages.
