Jude Law Embodies Vladimir Putin's Rise to Power in Russia in 'The Wizard of the Kremlin' Trailer

Jude Law plays Russian president Vladimir Putin in the upcoming movie, "The Wizard of the Kremlin," which charts his rise to power in Russia following the Soviet Union collapse in 1991. The movie is based on the French novel of the same name by Giuliano de Empoli and stars Paul Dano as a fictional character named Vadim Baranov. The film, directed by Olivier Assayas, premiered at the Venice Film Festival in August 2025 and is set to be released in theaters on May 15.
