Charles Melton, the actor, has enlisted his real-life mom Sukyong Melton as a costar in the season 2 premiere of the anthology series "Beef". The new season explores the themes of class and American and Korean cultures, following country club staffers Ashley (Cailee Spaeny) and Austin (Charles Melpton) as they compete against their boss, Josh (Oscar Isaac), and his wife, Lindsay. Like Melton himself, his character is biracial, with a Korean mother and a white father. The series creator, Lee Sung Jin, credits Charles' ability to be "vulnerable" about his history in the show.
