Dominant Illinois ousts VCU from NCAA Tournament

No. 3 Illinois defeated 11th-seeded VCU 76-55 to advance to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament, with Andrej Stojakovic scoring 21 points and Tomislav Ivisic contributing 14 points and 11 rebounds for the Fighting Illini. The victory was the second time in three seasons that Illinois coach Brad Underwood has led the team to the quarterfinals of the tournament. The team, which had a significant height advantage, held VCU to 35% shooting and outrebounded the Rams 45-29. The win sets up a South Region No. 2 seed Houston, who defeated Texas A&M.
