The murder trial for Meggan Randall Sundwall, a Utah nurse accused of murdering her friend, Kacee Lyn Terry, in 2024, in an attempt to claim her life insurance policy. Sundwall allegedly administered insulin to Terry, who was not diabetic and did not have any health issues that could have caused her death, to kill her and claim her policy. Despite her claims that Terry was diabetic and had cancer, investigators found that she was not with cancer and had no health issues, including diabetes, which could have contributed to her death. Further investigation revealed that Sundwall believed she was the beneficiary of Terry’s $1.5 million life insurance. The prosecution argued that Terry had arthritis in her knees and endometriosis, which caused her pain, but were not life-threatening. The defense claimed that Terry planned to kill herself and Sundwall was trying to cover up the murder by deleting text messages.
