Kansas freshman Darryn Peterson has declared for the NBA Draft, expected to be among the first three players selected in June. Peterson, who averaged 20.2 points and 4.2 rebounds while shooting 38.2% from beyond the arc in 24 games, caused a lot of headaches for the team this season due to injuries and illnesses that limited his ability to maintain team continuity. His announcement came one day after BYU’s A.J. Dybantsa declared for his position as a top-10 draft pick. Tennessee freshman Nate Ament also announced for the draft after starting all 35 games and averaging 16.7 points and 6.3 rebounds.
