The United States' attack on Iran is causing concern among Americans, according to a CNN poll conducted shortly after the attack. The poll also found that 59% of Americans do not believe President Donald Trump has a clear plan for handling the situation and 62% believe he should receive congressional approval for further military action. The survey also found a lack of trust and approval in the war in Iran, with only 27% of respondents believing Trump made enough effort at diplomacy before launching the attack and 59% distrusting him to make the right decisions regarding the use of force in Iran. However, 77% of Republicans approve of the war. Mohamad Bazzi, director of the Center for Near Eastern Studies, and a journalism professor at New York University, wrote in The Guardian that in his first year back in office, Trump has bombed seven countries: Yemen, Syria, Iran, Iraq, Nigeria, Somalia and Venezuela. The Washington Post's Greg Miller and Karen DeYoung have highlighted concerns about the potential conflict between the US and Iran.
