President Donald Trump's unprovoked war on Iran has been criticized for its lack of planning or strategic thinking, particularly in relation to shipping and the Strait of Hormuz, and potential disruption to the global economy. The administration did not plan for Iran to target shipping and potentially target shipping, retaliating against America's Persian Gulf state allies, nor did for significant retaliation against America’s European allies.
