FIRST founder Dean Kamen, the founder of the company, has resigned from the board of directors after Department of Justice records surfaced linking him to Jeffrey Epstein. The company, founded in 1989, provides life-changing robotics programs for young people ages 5-18 and aims to provide skills, confidence, and resilience to build a better world. Kamen's connections to Epstein have left the organization "shocked and dismayed" at the news. An independent review by the FIRST board found no evidence of misconduct by Kamen and there is no current charge or conviction related to Epstein.
