The New York Mets are struggling, with manager Carlos Mendoza underperformed, while the Boston Red Sox and Philadelphia Phillies have both been fired. The Phillies' manager, Rob Thomson, was replaced by Don Mattingly, and the Mets' president of baseball operations, David Stearns, has been under pressure. Despite this, there have been no discussions with Stearn or owner Steve Cohen about Mendoaza's position. The Mets have lost 15 of their last 17 games and have been held to just one run across 18 innings. Despite these setbacks, the team's players have defended their manager, stating that he is the best at what he is doing.
