Police in Hope Mills, North Carolina, have reported that during a police chase with a stolen vehicle, an officer was shot at by the suspect, identified as J’Quan Fitzgerald. The vehicle was reported stolen by the Fayetteville Police Department and three officers were involved in pursuit. Fitzgerald was taken into custody after throwing his weapon from the vehicle and throwing it out of the window. Court records indicate that Fitzgerald was wanted by Fayettevillian police in connection with a robbery investigation from January 17. He remains in jail under no bond and is scheduled to appear in court April 16.
