Jets’ Harrison Phillips echoes cries for stadiums to use real grass after World Cup change

Jets veteran defensive tackle Harrison Phillips has urged NFL teams to use grass in all stadiums after the World Cup changed the grass field at MetLife Stadium. Phillips, who is active in the NFL Players Association, expressed his belief that players prefer good, natural grass. He believes team owner Woody Johnson is open to discussing changing the field to grass, but this is complicated as both the Jets and Giants use the stadium and it is difficult to maintain grass fields in the colder months. Phillips also highlighted the Jets getting a remodeled training center as evidence of Johnson's commitment to support players.
