An illegal immigrant living in Fairfax County, Virginia, has been charged with murder in connection with the death of his 3-month-old daughter. Misael Lopez Gomez, 28, is being held without bond and the Department of Homeland Security is urging Virginia sanctuary politicians not to release him from jail. Lopez Gomez has admitted to crossing into the US in 2023 and is currently behind bars without bond. The child's death was ruled by "blunt force trauma" and was discovered by police and hospital staff indicating signs of abuse.
