Ryan Coogler Says “I’m Very Nervous” After Winning First Oscar for Writing ‘Sinners’

Ryan Coogler won the Academy Award for best original screenplay for his script for Warner Bros. vampire awards juggernaut Sinners. The film, which premiered almost two years ago, was part of a package that included Coogater directing and starring Michael B. Jordan. Cooglers thanked everyone involved in the movie, including the Academy and the cast and crew of Sinners, and his wife, Zinzi Evans, three children and his mother. The other nominees in the category were Robert Kaplow for Blue Moon, Jafar Panahi for It Was Just an Accident, It Was Only an Accidental, and It Was Then an Accidentally.
