Bits of 'rubber' on Cornish beaches are left by predatory snails

The circular 'rubber' that have been found on beaches in Cornwall and Devon are believed to be tennis balls, bits of artificial football pitches, or old shoes. The findings have been confirmed by Matt Slater from the Cornwall Wildlife Trust, who said they are actually a mucus structure that gets sand stuck in and looks like plastic. The species of these creatures are native to the UK and are known for their predatory nature.
