The previously announced Game of Thrones stage prequel, The Mad King, will begin performances at Stratford-Upon-Avon’s Royal Shakespeare Theatre on July 20 and will officially open on August 8. The Royal Shakespeare Company announced these dates on its website. The play is written by Duncan Macmillan and directed by Dominic Cooke. The creative team includes puppetry and movement designers Nick Barnes and Finn Caldwell, set designer Chloe Lamford, costume designer Georgia McGuinness, lighting designer Jon Clark, composer Will Stuart, and sound designer Tom Gibbons.
