Republic Airways pilots mistakenly contacted the wrong New York air traffic control tower while landing at LaGuardia Airport on March 15, according to reports and authorities. The Delta connection flight 5752, operated by Republic Airways, was about to land at La Guardia Airport when the pilots contacted the tower at John F. Kennedy Airport, a 10-mile distance away. The confusion was captured on air traffic Control audio. The flight successfully landed at Laguardia Airport without incident. The incident occurred a week before Air Canada Express Flight 8646 crashed into a Port Authority truck, killing two pilots and injuring 41 others.
