The victory was the culmination of a tough day for Texas Tech, who had been trailing 1-0 and 5-3 early in the game. Despite a strong performance from the Jayhawks, Texas Tech managed to score in six of the games nine innings, scoring in the final five innings consecutively. The win is Tech’s second bottom-of-the-nine walkoff win of the season and fourth total walk-offs. In the win, both Quintananar and Ferraro homered and drove in three runs, while every Tech starter in the first seven slots of the order recorded at least one hit.
