Denver's Ruby Hill Rail Yard, North America's first urban winter terrain park, has closed for the season due to warm temperatures and deteriorating conditions. The park, which opened in 2007, usually opens in early to mid-January and remains open until mid-March, opened on February 1 and closed on March 1. The closure was attributed to a warm winter, with the cold weather causing the ice to melt.
