Moisés Ballesteros is expected to continue to play for the Chicago Cubs, despite Seiya Suzuki nearing a return from a PCL sprain. Despite a slow start to the season, with a 1-for-10 in the opening series against the Washington Nationals, the Cubs believe Ballestero is poised for a big year. He became the youngest designated hitter to play on opening day for the Cubs since 1963. The team also plans to continue developing Balleros as a catcher, but this will be limited as long as healthy players Carson Kelly and Miguel Amaya are healthy. Manager Craig Counsell has hinted that Suzuki could return from the injured list soon.
