NBA Commissioner Adam Silver has visited Portland, Oregon, as lawmakers advance a bill to form the Oregon Arena Fund, which would reallocate tax revenue to fund renovations at the Moda Center. If Gov. Tina Kotek signs SB 1501, the state would sell $365 million worth of bonds towards the remodel, and taxes from athletes, performers, and staff at the center would contribute over $200 million. The city of Portland and Multnomah County would also contribute over €200 million to the project. The project will cost around $600 million. Silver praised the bill, calling it a "great first step" and commended the bipartisan effort to ensure the ModA Center is well-received.
