The Post's Adam Schein has criticized the decision to abandon the World Baseball Classic (WBC) after only one start, calling it "garbage" and "amateur hour". The decision was made by Tigers ace Tarik Skubal, who has won each of the last two American League Cy Young awards and is set to become a free agent after the 2026 season, potentially earning a record-setting payday. Despite initially indicating he may stay with the team, Skubala chose to return to Tigers spring training camp instead of the WBC, which he stated was a tough decision.
