SpaceX has launched a Falcon 9 rocket from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station’s Space Launch Complex 40 on a resupply run to the International Space Station. The first-stage booster did not land offshore, but SpaceX managed to bring it back to the recovery site at SLC-40. This is the 26th launch on the Space Coast this year, with SpaceX continuing its role as a replacement rocket for Northrop Grumman’s inactive Antares rockets. The spacecraft is named the S.S. Steven R. Nagel, and will remain at the space station until October before being loaded with trash to be burned up in Earth’S. atmosphere. Meanwhile, SpaceX is preparing to launch its first Falcon Heavy rocket since late 2024.
