Five Florida men are facing racketeering charges for allegedly operating a sophisticated auto theft operation across Orange and Seminole counties, spanning nearly a year and a half. The stolen 33 luxury cars, including BMWs, Range Rovers, G-Wagons, Ferraris, and at least one Lamborghini, were valued at over $2 million. The suspects identified are D'Mawuko Fugar, Edrick Tyrone Bush, Damon Damascus Kelson Jr., Fort Lauderdale, Marvin Tyrone Brooks III, and Chadd Arthur Thomason. The operation involved a Tesla Model 3 registered to a family member as the primary vehicle for transporting suspects to theft locations. Cell phone location data placed Fugar near virtually every crime scene documented across the investigation. The case highlights the need for proactive measures against high-end car owners, suggesting that the basic assumption of high-security technology should not matter.
