New details reveal the motivation of the suspected shooter who opened fire at the White House Correspondents' Association Dinner (WHCD) on Saturday night. The suspected gunman, identified as 31-year-old California resident Cole Tomas Allen, was apprehended in the Washington Hilton lobby after attempting to rush through security and shooting a Secret Serviceman wearing a bulletproof vest. Reports revealed that Allen had allegedly written a manifesto intending to target President Donald Trump and administration officials. White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said the suspect "sought to assassinate" Trump, making this the third assassination attempt on the president. No other injuries were reported.
