Rachel Rivota, 27, has been sentenced to five years in prison for her role in the murder of 35-year-old Christopher Ryan Correa outside an East El Paso bar almost four years ago. She pleaded guilty to aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and was sentenced to 153 days in prison, which will be reduced as she has already served time awaiting trial or sentencing. Alexander Diaz, 29, who was already serving 50 years for murder, was also convicted of the crime. The murder occurred behind the 10-4 Oyster Bar on Sept. 18, 2022. Rivota was originally charged with murder, but her charge was reduced to assault. The start of Rivota's jury trial had been postponed four times.
