'Superman' Star Dead At 78

Valerie Perrine, the actress known for her roles in "Superman" and "Liven," has died at the age of 82. Her close friend, filmmaker Stacey Souther, confirmed her death, although the cause of death was not disclosed. Perrine had battled Parkinson's disease for ten years and spent Sunday re-watching her movies. She also starred alongside her co-star, Gene Hackman, in the 1978 "superman" film and "Supermania II". Perinne won the Cannes Film Festival Award for Best Actress and a BAFTA Award for Most Promising Newcomer, and was also nominated for the Academy Award.
