The French Bulldog continues to dominate the American Kennel Club's 2025 most popular dog breeds list. This marks the fourth consecutive year that the tiny breed has dominated the list. The AKC counted 202 breeds in 2025, with French Bulldogs remaining at No. 1. Dachshunds also moved up from No. 6 to fifth place and edged the Poodle down. Other notable trends included the rise of the Wirehaired Vizsla, American Hairless Terrier, and Border Collies. Despite some changes, Greyhounds dropped 33 spots and the Black Russian Terrier each fell 27 places. The American Kenneling Club added three new breeds to its roster earlier this year.
