The Eagles signed former Seahawks cornerback Tariq Woolen to a one-year, $15 million contract on the second day of free agency, a modest investment for a unique talent. Woolen, who was considered one of the best young players available, has struggled with penalties, mental lapses, and tackling, among other issues. Eagles general manager Howie Roseman believes Woolen could thrive in a new environment and reach his full potential. Despite these issues, Woolen has been benched for short stints in 2023 and 2024 by the Seahawks as punishment for his mistakes. The Eagles could have a dominant defense next season if they get more consistency and less lows with Woolen.
