Angelina Jolie has won a court case against ex-husband Brad Pitt over the release of her private messages. A judge has ruled that Jolie does not have to turn over private communications sought by Pitt, who claims they are protected by attorney-client privilege. The case relates to Jolie's sale of her stake in Château Miraval, a French winery she and Pitt once co-owned, which Pitt alleges breached a prior agreement between them. The judge ruled that Pitt had not met his burden to prove that the communications fall outside attorney- client privilege. Despite further discovery, the judge also denied Jolie’s request for $33,692.50 in sanctions. The court case began in 2022 when Pitt sued Jolie for $35 million in damages after her 2021 sale of the winery business.
