Hyundai is using race cars in the 24-hour Nürburgring race in Germany to test its new gas engine that will power future Hyundai N cars. The Hyundai Elantra N1 RP race cars will feature the pre-production engine and compete in the SP4T class. The Korean automaker has a tradition of testing engines that eventually become production vehicles. The test will include a prolonged stress test to validate the next-generation engine used for future production N cars, which will be used to showcase its durability and performance. The new engine will have more power and be more responsive than the current 2.0-liter turbo four.
