North Melbourne's Tristan Xerri is expected to receive a suspension for his actions during a game against Essendon. The incident occurred after a series of hits resulted in a bloody nose. Xerri then appeared to wipe blood on Essendon's Andrew McGrath, prompting widespread condemnation. He then confronted McGrath and looked at his hand after each time, before smearing it across McGrath's face. Many are calling for Xerri to be suspended, citing Nathan Buckley's one-game suspension for doing the same in 2002.
