Sylvania Township police investigate underage drinking involving Northview hockey players

Sylvania Township police are investigating underage drinking allegations involving 13 students from Northview High School, many of whom are members of the Northview hockey team. The students were given breathalyzer tests and nine did not register any alcohol. The school district has launched an investigation into the allegations. Police had the teens contact their parents and those who could not reach them were taken home by officers. Charges will be filed in Lucas County Juvenile Court or Sylvania Municipal Court. The first violation from the school will result in a one-year ban from sports.
