The Portland Fire and Toronto Tempo have selected 11 players each for their first WNBA expansion draft. The Portland Fire, which is returning to the WNBA after 24 years, selected veteran forward Bridget Carleton with the first pick. The Toronto Tempos won a coin flip and chose the No. 6 pick in the WNA draft over the top pick in this expansion draft, so Portland went first. Carleton, who has played for the Minnesota Lynx and averaged 6.5 points and 3.6 rebounds last season, was an unrestricted free agent. The expansion draft had two rounds, with up to six picks for each team in each round.
