A former Pickens County deputy, Joseph Russell Williamson, has been arrested by the Easley Police Department on charges including DUI, hit-and-run, and possession with intent to distribute narcotics. Williamson was terminated by Sheriff Tommy Blankenship after reviewing initial information. The arrest occurred when an Easley police officer observed a Ford F-150 that matched the description of a truck involved in a hit. During a search for Williamson's driver’s license, officers found multiple signs of impairment and he was arrested for DUI. After Williamson was transported to the police department, officers located controlled substances in Williamson's truck.
