Fairport Harbor Village is seeking approval of three renewal levies in the May 5 primary election. The current levy, if approved, would cost taxpayers $46 annually for each $100,000 in property valuation and generate $129,656 per year. The Fire Department's use of this levy is solely to purchase essential equipment and vehicles needed for emergency response. The second levy would provide essential funding for the Police Department's day-to-day operations, including officer wages, maintenance, replacement of patrol vehicles and technology. The third renewal levy would fund general construction, reconstruction, resurfacing and repair of streets, roads and bridges. The funds will also be used to maintain and improve the village's streets and related infrastructure.
