The board of directors is a crucial role in setting strategic goals and overseeing management’s execution of corporate objectives and initiatives. The chairperson, the elected leader of the board, sets the goals and objectives for the other board members and ensures them are met. The vice chair supports the board chair in their duties and serves on committees. The corporate secretary schedules board meetings, ensures accurate information and preparation for meetings. The board treasurer makes crucial financial decisions regarding the company's finances and oversight of financial responsibilities. As a member of a public company board, directors have a fiduciary duty to protect the company and its investors, employees, suppliers, and customers.
