Backstreet Boys star AJ McLean has joined the sports comedy Shearing The Love, alongside Oscar-winning Geoffrey Rush. The film is currently being sold at the Cannes market by Essential Film Group. McLean and Rush will also serve as executive-producers. Other cast members include New Zealand-born singer-songwriter Daniel Bedingfield, Dan Musgrove and Dom Hetrakul. The movie follows the story of a washed-up hairstylist who returns to competitive sheep shearing to prove himself to his father, Bob, a man who built his identity on the sport. The cast includes Rima Te Wiata (Hunt for the Wilderpeople), Johanna Cosgrove (Madam), and Michael Hurst (Hercules: The Legendary Journeys).
