Switzerland has angered Italy by claiming the costs of treating the Crans-Montana fire victims as "disgraceful". The Federal Social Insurance Office (FSIO) confirmed plans for Switzerland to recoup the money spent on hospital treatment, but not from the families of the victims. The claim adds further strain to the strained relationship between the two countries. Italy's Prime Minister, Gian Lorenzo Cornado, stated that Italy will reject the request and will act upon it in any way.
