Dr. Ezra Ameis, a veterinarian and founder of Paw Priority, has warned pet owners about the dangers of certain flowers that can pose life-threatening risks to their pets. Ameis highlighted lilies as particularly dangerous for cats, capable of causing severe kidney damage even with minimal exposure. He also mentioned that lilies are often included in mixed bouquets, making vigilance crucial for pet owners. Other hazards include sago palms, tulips and daffodils, hydrangeas and pothos, and plastic and foam used in arrangements that pose choking or ingestion hazards. For safer alternatives, Ameis suggested artificial plants, toys and enrichment items such as cat trees and scratching pads.
