The United Arab Emirates, which has been hit by Iranian missiles and drones, may be left to fend off Iran alone as the US seeks an exit from its Iranian war. Despite President Donald Trump's claim that the US and Israeli strikes have weakened Iran's military capabilities, Iran's regime can still strike at both Israel and its Gulf Arab neighbors. This has left the Gulf region with losses of hundreds of millions of dollars a day in blocked oil and gas exports. Despite Trump's call for other nations to take the lead in securing the Strait of Hormuz, it is also a tacit admission that Tehran will remain in control once the US war ends. There are differing views on how the war should proceed, with Saudi Arabia urging Iran's missile and drone capabilities to be degraded before a US exit.
