Veterans and military service members are embarking on a 100-mile hike across the Dallas area in support of those suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTS). The seventh annual PTSD Century Hike is a crucial fundraiser for Semper Fi & America’s Fund, a nonprofit that supports critically wounded, ill, and injured veterans. The walk aims to raise awareness about the impacts of PTSD on our service members. Ex-Army Ranger John Filipkowski, who served 23 years in the Army, said the event gives him an opportunity to be an ambassador for the SemperFi & America's Fund and to reach fellow veterans in need. Retired Army trauma nurse Nekita Hunter said the hike gives her a positive outlet to support her mental health without medication.
