French train driver killed, 16 injured in a railway crossing crash

A French high-speed train driver has been killed and 16 others injured in a railway crossing crash in northern France. The train collided with a truck carrying military equipment. The driver of the truck has been detained and an aggravated manslaughter investigation is opened. The head of the national railway authority, Jean Castex, said the railroad crossing gates were functioning properly. The crash left the train on the tracks and resulted in the death of the driver.
