Man charged with arson after multiple fires set inside Ontario Mills mall force evacuation

Luis Javier Gallegos Jr., 28, of Rancho Cucamonga, has been charged with arson after multiple fires were set at the Ontario Mills mall in California, leading to an evacuation and the evacuation of the mall on April 10. Police and fire crews found multiple fires burning in several locations throughout the property and evacuated all shoppers. The incident occurred during an altercation with Gallego, who allegedly did not comply with officers and a use of force occurred. No additional threats were found and one officer was injured during the evacuation. An arraignment hearing for Gallegas Jr. is scheduled for April 15 at the Rancho Ceceamonga Superior Courthouse. The San Bernardino County District Attorney's Office has charged him with arson.
